About Me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 25 years of experience in private practice working with adults, families, adolescents, and children as young as 3. While I have been trained and treat patients who suffer from severe emotional disorders, my passion and the bulk of my time is spent helping people with everyday problems. Life is full of transitions and challenges: moving to a new grade in school; moving out of your parents’ home; moving to a new job; managing work/life balance; adjusting to a medical diagnosis; taking care of a sick parent; dealing with the loss of a loved one—the list is endless. Whatever the challenge, I am excited to help you minimize suffering and find your potential for positive growth.

People come to me for:

  • Traditional psychotherapy (individual, couples, or families)
  • Short-term crisis management: problem-solving around a specific crisis or challenge
  • Life skills coaching: collaborative problem-solving around ongoing, everyday challenges
  • Parenting coaching and education

My specialties include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Coping with chronic physical illness (your own or a family member)
  • Living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis)
  • Coping with chronic stress
  • Interpersonal/relationship problems
  • Performance issues at work and school
  • Parenting challenges
  • Adjustment to divorce

Education

After graduating summa cum laude from Tufts University, I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from New York University. In addition to an internship working with adults at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, I completed a Second Year Specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology.

My continuing education over the years has included extensive workshop trainings in mindfulness meditation, Somatic Experiencing ®, and yoga as an adjunct to therapy.
